ELDERLY OR LOW INCOME RENTERS

Keeping track of the health of your elderly renters is a really important part of being their landlord. Often, they experience a session of poor health and haven't any place to turn for help. Sometimes they simply do not want to bother others with their problems.
   Talking to their neighbor tenants will help you keep track of them. Sometimes they just need some help in their house work. There are several social service agencies that will help find low cost house care people to help them.
    Call the MAAC Project or Neighborhood House Association. Tell them your needs and they will give you all manner of help. Let them know about Meals On Wheels also.

   Home visit doctors are also becoming more common. They will begin to advertise in the Yellow Pages more. Look under "Home Health Care." These are all things your live-in managers need to keep handy. You can put them in your newsletter also.

HEALTH - - SELF CARE

   There are quite a lot of health food stores in the area, and they are usually quite knowledgeable about what is available. The larger chains often have seminars and talks about the use of vitamins and herbs, etc.

   You can find one's in your area in the Yellow Pages under "Health and Diet Food." Call them and they will be glad to send you flyers on things that are happening at their2 stores. This information is useful in your newsletter also.
