Carpal
Tunnel is a sort of a tunnel made of the carpal bones in the wrist.
A median nerve and nine tendons feed through the carpal tunnel.
Some times this tunnel begins to flatten out a little, or a lot.
It can create a rather painful condition.
Carpal
Tunnel Symptoms are felt as weakness or tingling of the hands and
wrist or fingers, with pain which can get very intense. Often, it
is felt while driving, writing, or just sitting. It can be intense
enough to awaken the sufferer at night in much pain. One of ten
people suffers from carpal tunnel syndrome. It usually affects people
who perform repetitive work with their hands, such as carpenters,
musicians, meat cutters, secretaries, and assembly line workers.
Traditional
medical treatment uses ice, drugs, splints, cortisone injections
and even surgery. However, they have had a very poor history in
treating carpal tunnel syndrome due to the fact that it is a problem
with bones..
The
Chiropractic Approach to treatment releases spinal nerve stress
caused by spinal joint lesions and reforms the carpal tunnel itself.
All this relieves wrist swelling and compression of the median nerve
in the Carpal tunnel. Once again, treating the cause of the problem.
Carpal
tunnel syndrome sufferers really need to visit their chiropractor
for treatment before even considering drugs and surgery.
