Is Rolfing Permanent?
Rolfing is considered progressive rather than merely
permanent. As your body structure
changes in and you change the way you move (function), you get stronger in your
new form and are able to accommodate even more change.
For example, in changing your gait, as your knees track
forward and the weight moves forward across the whole line of toe knuckles, you
will be using your to those in a new way which will increase their flexibility
over time and increase the strength of the lower leg muscles.
Sometimes the new structural changes will cause it to be
uncomfortable to sit, stand, or walk in the old way, thereby further encouraging
the new pattern.
