Dream Come True - Grandiflora - New for 2008

Dream Come True is a is a beautiful sight of eye-catching colors which are spectacular in the garden. This rose produces lovely yellow blossoms with ruby-red at the tips. The bush is large, vigorous and quite bushy. The foliage is a lovely matte green which set off the bloom quite nicely. The blooms are long-lasting and have a mild tea fragrance. It will be lovely used as a landscape rose and will be excellent in arrangements.

The rose was hybridized by Dr. John Pottschmidt of Cincinnat, Ohio. He is the third amateur hybridizer to win the AARS Award in 67 years. The rose will be introduced by Weeks Roses.

Mardi Gras - Floribunda - New for 2008

Mardi Gras has flamboyant blooms that are sure to attract attention. The color is a blend of pink, orange and yellow. Each high-centered hybrid-tea style bloom starts as an apricot-orange bud that changes to bright pink and orange as it opens. The floribunda has performed well across the country and has been said to require little to no care. The foliage is a beauitiful dark green which help set off the colorful flowers. The growth pattern is upright and can make a nice hedge when planted in mass. I'm sure we will be seeing these lovely blooms at a lot of rose shows in the spring.

Mardi Gras is being introduced by Jackson & Perkins and will be available locally or by mail-order.
This colorful rose is a must for the garden.

 


Happy Chappy - Ground Cover

Happy Chappy is a wonderful rose. It is classed as an Apricot Orange which is a new color for a groundcover rose. It is very vigorous and disease tolerant. As the bloom ages, the color changes so the bush will have light orange, light pink and even hot pink blooms on it at the same time. This rose is available through Jackson and Perkins in a weeping tree or as a ground cover. Great addition to the garden.

New for 2007 - Strike It Rich - Grandiflora

Strike It Rich is a beautiful Ruby-swirled orange gold color. The buds are long and open to classic shaped blooms that can be 5-inches in size. The rose is fragrant and has a spicy and fruity smell. The plant will get between 5 to 6 feel in height and is disease resistant.
