| 06/02/05 - This looks
like the last posting before we leave. Got your beads, ID, SPF & sunglasses? I've been
answering questions on C/C over the past week on "Bermuda Stuff" as best
as I can. I thank the resident Bermuda Guru, Swizzle for his help... so much so, I'm
trying to meet up with him in Hamilton next week for a libation. I picked up name tags and
a couple of Sharpie pens for us for our "Meet 'n Greets". I should have made a
logo or something for this trip, but we'll figure it out. Found a good link to the Bermuda
Public Bus System. All the routes, and route maps with times and such. Other than
that, everyone have a safe trip to Norfolk and see you at the Marina Bar after Muster so
we can toast the Fleet as we sail past. SEA YA! |
Hello to our fellow mariners.
We're Debbie & Robert Ridgely, from Alexandria, Virginia. We were looking for a
"next cruise" and talked to our firends, Dorothy and Bob (Sarge667) down in
Richmond, Virginia. We both asked, "How 'bout Bermuda on Celebrity?" (our cruise
line of choice) and voila, here we are, making some more good friends. This will be our
fourth cruise, the first being the Deep Caribbean to the Islands & Venezuela on the
Zenith in April 1997, the Mediterranean (to die for) in June 2001 and the Southern
Caribbean in August 2004, on the Golden Princess.
We've put this
site together under one common goal; to share information, learn all we can about this
trip and to have fun. All three items have been successful. The Roster page is an eclectic
group from all points on the compass. And we've all met thru the internet. Most of us have
never been "face - to - face", but based on what I've read, we're going to have
a great time. Read on and "CRUZ"
the site. For those that are "LURKING" there's still time to join us, if
you'd like. If not, learn all you can about your trip before you go. I've seen a number of
Bermuda "CRUIZERS" on the CC Board. This is a good place to start.
When and Where
We'll be arriving in Norfolk, Virginia on Saturday, June 4, '05.
We can board the ship at 12:00 noon, but don't actually sail until 5:00pm.
Ground Rules
Like Outback Steakhouse... there are none. Really! Don't feel obligated to go or do with
everyone. While it'll be a great time together, I know we don't expect everyone to
"hang out" with each other all the time. It's your vacation... Do as you please.
Just sharing the day's experiences together, maybe over a late afternoon libation, is fun.
Your expectations on the cruise are up to you. I know we're going in order to "see
& do & go & be pampered & relax", but most of all, have fun! Please send us an E-Mail with your
findings, questions, suggestions, etc. I will send a notice of updates, questions and info
to everyone, but I won't post your E-Mail address on
this site, until you say it's OK. Got pictures? pass 'em on! I'll
post them, if you like (that's how we'll identify you, on board). Gotta have a program to
identify the players.
(I have to tell this... Last cruise, Golden Princess, So. Carib. Travel Day From HELL!.
Got to the ship at sailing time [10:30pm], went up on deck for a departure drink, we were
there for 10 minutes, saw and recognized one of our fellow cruisers - how?... He sent me
the photo of his wedding party, inlcuding his GREATchildren and inlaws, lovely folks, all
from the UK.) So send those photos in. It really is fun!
I hope the links to the left will help. Some are my
pages, others are suggested sites, some supplied by our fellow cruisers. I'll update the
links as often as possible. Keep the cards and letters coming in!
Glad to have you aboard!
