      Assistant Director The American Foundry Society Cast Metals Institute. Des Plaines, Illinois Planned, administrated, and coordinated technical training programs to assist metal casting personnel in achieving higher quality through a better understanding of metal casting technology. Responsibilities included teaching technical training courses, technical support, upgrading course content and developing promotional materials.

      Full Time Industrial Experience: 1/86 to 8/87

      Process Engineer Marathon Electric Manufacturing Corp. Wausau, Wisconsin. Assisted supervisors, union employees and maintenance personnel with technical support to achieve manufacturing and production goals. Specifically this included: Implementation, experimentation and evaluation of new processes and techniques. Also problem solving, project management, installation of new equipment and future project planning.

      Part Time Industrial Experience: Summers 1988 and 1989

      Manufacturing Engineer
      Marathon Electric Manufacturing Corp. Lebanon, Missouri.
      Summer project engineer in the Marathon Electric die casting plant
      in Lebanon, Missouri. Conducted process documentation on a new die cast
      start up, coordinated equipment rebuilds and wrote process specifications on
      blast cleaning and furnace startup and shut down procedures. Established
      parameters and installation of a preventive maintenance program in shaft and
      bracket machining.

      Professional Recognition:

      Chairman and Board Member of the AFS Tri-State Chapter 1993-present. First Vice-Chairman and Board Member of the AFS Tri-State Chapter 1992-93. Second Vice-Chairman and Board Member of the AFS Tri-State Chapter 1991-92. Co-chairman, 1991 Missouri Valley Regional Conference, Kansas City, Missouri. Foundry Educational Foundation (FEF) Key Professor. Coordinating foundry scholarships and college/industry career support. Pittsburg State University is one of 30 universities in the United States to be selected and affiliated with the FEF.
