RE: Brestyan’s Classic Invitational Update

Hi Everyone! I just want to let you know that the AGPA Board, through hard work and determination, was able to secure a Public Charities number yesterday through the Massachusetts’ Attorney General’s office. As a result of this accomplishment, the AGPA is in compliance with all Federal and Massachusetts’ laws pertaining to Non-Profit Organizations, more especially fundraising. We will be able to sell concessions, merchandise, and charge admission fees at Tufts this weekend without any problems.

I want to thank my fellow Board Members, Tom Brady (AGPA lawyer), and Mike DiCorato (AGPA Accountant) for all their hard work in securing our Public Charities number in time for our meet. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions or concerns.

Let’s make the upcoming Brestyan’s Classic Invitational a real success. I will see you all this weekend.

RE: $150.00 Fundraising Issue

Just a quick note stating that the $150.00 fundraising objective will remain at $150.00 for this gymnastic season. After receiving most of the votes from the various level representatives, a majority of votes (26 out of the 48 families) were counted to keep the fundraising amount at what is written in the 2003-2004 AGPA Agreement ($150.00).

I hope that all members can move beyond this issue and make this season a success. The AGPA can only succeed if all members fundraise money for their Individual Escrow Account and the General Fund. It is time to work on the Brestyan American Classic.

I will have the amendments to the AGPA agreement in everyone's folder by early next week. For those that haven't turned in a signed AGPA membership sheet with the first payment, it is due one week after the issuance of the amendments.

If anyone has any questions about the AGPA agreement or the $150.00 fundraising vote and results, please feel free to call me.

Re: AGPA Agreement

Hi everyone! The AGPA is off to a great start this year thanks to a very successful golf tournament. I want to thank all the golfers, Mihai and Silvia, and everyone that volunteered their time to make the golf tournament a very positive experience. Plans are already in the making to book a date for next year's golf outing. Hopefully, more people will get involved to support this fundraiser.

This is a reminder that the AGPA agreement sign-up sheet and first payment are due today. Please put the sheet and payment in Wayne Saya's folder.

There have been some issues with a few parents regarding the agreement. Julene Teixeira has agreed to meet with these parents to discuss and record their concerns. Julene is going to bring these concerns to our next "Board Meeting" (8/28) so we can review them and decide the next course of action. Any concern that warrants attention will be brought before the general membership for a vote at our next meeting. If any changes to the agreement are approved by the general membership, an amendment to the agreement will be issued reflecting the changes. If anyone wants to discuss this further with me or any other Board Member, please call or e-mail us. You can also catch us at the gym.

Our next AGPA General Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday September 2nd at the gym.

Also, Silvia wanted me to remind everyone to please include your $25.00 registration fee along with your September tuition payment.
