The Baton Rouge Genealogical & Historical Society
This organization held its first recorded meeting in December 1961and was incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in the State of Louisiana on 7 December 1981.
The purposes of the Society are to:
1. Inculcate and promote interest in genealogical and historical research;
2. Encourage and assist others in their efforts;
3. Facilitate genealogical research in our local libraries;
4. Collect and preserve genealogical data;
5. Foster careful documentation and promote scholarly writing.
Regular program meetings are held on the 3rd* Saturday of each month at 10:00 am in the
Bluebonnet Regional Library
