Our own Tony Lam (Lam Quang) has been selected as one of the “100 People Who Shaped Orange County”, in a magazine published by The Orange County Register. The Register is the main newspaper of the County and was founded in 1905. A panel of nine civic leaders met in June 2005, and came to an agreement on a list of the 100 most influential people in Orange County history. Tony was singled out for his election to the City Council of Westminster (the first Vietnamese elected official in the entire U.S.) and for his work in integrating the Vietnamese community into the life of Westminster. A photo of Tony appears on the cover of the magazine featuring the 100, along with John Wayne, President Richard Nixon, and Gene Autry.
