The base bike was picked up from a local thrift store. It was in good working condition - the tires looks OK and the gears and brakes worked. As an added bonus, the bike had front suspension and V-brakes!

The next visit (OK - it turned out to be four visits, as I went back for more parts) was to the Davis Salvage where I picked up two tubes cut to 4" lengths. These were to be the fork extensions. I found tubes that fit over the existing forks so all I needed was to anchor them and figure out how to mount the front wheel. I also picked up some Aluminum flat iron and L iron to build a banana seat.
