What we do and why we do
it
We
own a sailboat because it is a place of respite and recreation.
Every kind of boat can give some pleasure. A dinghy can take one
around harbor or a lake and with a trailer to the next town
or
the next State. A daysailer can get the family out in the sun for a few
hours and teach them the pleasure of handling the winds and the
weather. When we get to ocean going vessels the horizon and the
challenge is unlimited on the surface of earth. Whether cruising or
racing, every day is an opportunity to deal with a new situation, to
learn a new lesson, to see a new sight or have a new thought.
Why "Blue Agave"?
Hey, It's a good SoCal name, somehow arrived at by
the original NoCal
owner. Blue Agave is a succulent plant. It is untrue that tequila is made from a
cactus. Agave is a succulent and is more closely related to amaryllis
and lilies. Its
juice, when fermented, is
generally known as Tequila - Party On!

Agave Racing Schedule
This
is the
proposed schedule for us to get out there and have some fun. Some
months will be busier than others. Let's try to work our schedules so
we can do most of the planned events. If you are planning to be AWOL
let me know so I can work the crew issues in advance. I will try to
keep it three
months ahead so you can plan. It is of course subject to
change
and
revision.
As we find out the start times this table will also include
Departure Time >> Meeting
time
at
the dock is 30 minutes earlier. It makes your skipper
tense when
it is ten minutes before departure time and just three stalwart crew
are on board. I will also make a guess as to the time we
expect to be back at the dock in case you must bolt on arrival.
