The Players

Bob "Bop Til You Drop" Knop

"Dynamite" Danny Miller - Saxes/Flute/Vocals

Bob Knop Bob Knop provides the bottom end for the band. He is particularly adept with the 'walkin the dog'  style of bass and can sashay from traditional blues grooves, to funk, rock and country with ease. He was with Lucky and Packy when they hatched RythmOil so many years ago and we are glad to have him back in the mix. He is the only one in the band who has a personal assistant who gives Bob advice on make-up and wardrobe. His bestselling book, "The Pros and Cons of  The Pros and Cons" examines professional athletes who have been imprisoned for various felonies. It is widely regarded as the only book that dares to delve into this rather touchy subject.

Danny Miller is a tenor, alto, and soprano sax maestro as well as an accomplished flute player. Danny hails from the west coast where he played as a top session player with Little Anthony and The Imperials, Wolfman Jack, The Platters, and The Diamonds.

"The Pocket" Ernie Pomeroy - Drum/Vocals

Ernie started drums at age 10, and hails from New Jersey, although he has lived in Phoenix for the last 30 years. Educated at ASU, he later taught drum line at several high schools.  His straight ahead, nonsensical approach creates a sublime mix of power, finesse and musicality that propels RythmOil’s rhythm section. Although he hasn't sung a lick yet, we hear him humming sometimes and need to get him a microphone!
"Packy" Mike Hall - Rhythm Guitars/Vocals

"Lucky" Kevin Pennick - Lead Guitars/Lead Vocals -
                                       Oh High Exalted One

Mike co-founded RythmOil with Kevin and the two go back almost forty years. He also arranges and composes. Mike got his start in Chicago, playing with JB Ritchie’s Liquid Chrome Blues Band and has shared the stage with many luminaries of the blues circuit, including John Lee Hooker, Sunnyland Slim, Luther Allison, and others

Kevin Pennick has been kicked out of more bands that he’s been in. Hailing from Chicago and having lived in Jackson, MS, Little Rock, AR, and Denver, CO, he has played with more musicians than the rock and roll hall of fame. His grinding, in your face style is only equaled by his ability to manipulate arrangements into true works of art. He is the blues. Although he’s wanted on several federal warrants, Kevin still finds time to arrange and compose. He is often referred to as the band’s “resident pain in the ass,” and is our High Exalted Leader On High.
