Kindrede - 08/04/2004 15:25:45 - jmentprs99@aol.comwell, now I know this topic has been brought up sooooooo many times
in the last few months but I need a question answered on how to care
for a book I just got from Ebay.
I purchased the Arms and Equipment Guide by WOTC,off of Ebay and it
has a stained area on the cover which is a very small glot of glue
which looks like someone managaed to get on the cover. Dont get me
wrong, this very small stain is literally hardly noticeable when you
look right at it but if you move the light onto it, its visible. My
question is how can I go about getting this small glue stain off my
book without damaging it? Would a small dose of acetone work or some
nail polish remover???....any help please would be appreciated.
I just dont want to put this thing on my shelf and have it stick to
another book possibly damaging it. Oh how I hate people who care not
for their books but this was a "damaged item" book and is why I got
it sooooooooooo cheap...like $9.99.
So could anyone suggest anything?
Thanks kindly...

MrGonev5 - 08/04/2004 23:34:50 - mrgonejediknight@aol.comI'm not 100% on this, but I used some stuff called Goo Gone on a
softback book(it was a WW book that has the coated covers, you know
what I mean) once that I got that had something like what your
talking about on it.
So I used that, and it seemed to work fairly good, got the stuff off
anyway.
Maybe thats something you can try..

Wait, I think you're mixed up, here. I'm pretty sure Goo Gone is the
stuff that gets rid of incriminating semen/body fluid stains. Worked
a charm for me after my little Nevada misadventure.

I was going to continue my theme of homoerotic offhand comments, but
figured I'm just psychologically damaging myself.
Oh, maybe try baby oil. That's apparently good at getting stains off
of book covers, but I may not know what I'm talking about. Maybe get
some better advice from other folks.

Morlandus - 08/05/2004 11:37:26 - morlandus@vampirethemasquerade.comIf I had something like that on one of my vampire books, I would put
on a very small amount of toothpaste, and massage it in with a
cloth. Dampen another one, and wipe clean. Abrasiveness is the key,
but tempered with finesse.
