I started working on the NamedWeapons app primarily as an exercise to learn more about a technology in Mac OS X Tiger called Core Data. As such, it is far from finished or even well designed. I may continue working on it, but probably only if there's some interest in it.

What exactly is a 'Named Weapon'? Good question. A bit of history first. There's an SCA event called Winter Weekend, held in the San Bernadino mountains. The cabin we stay in has a couple of large whiteboards and every year we have a theme for the boards. This year's theme was picked by our resident ex-Ranger and it was "Named Weapons". The idea was to list as many unique weapons which have a distinct name as possible. We eneded up with quite a few, most of which I've forgotten. That was where the idea came from when I needed something to try working with Core Data.
