There were two weapons named Grond in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth: Morgoth's hammer, and a battering ram named after the hammer.

Then Morgoth hurled aloft Grond, the Hammer of the Underworld, and swung it like a bolt of thunder. But Fingolfin sprang aside, and Grond rent a mighty pit in the earth, whence smoke and fire darted.
