More Detail About Point Categories:
Design (20 points):
- Does your site have consistent design layout through
all of its pages? (see CONSISTENT THEME)
- Is your site neat and
clean in overall design? Is it easy to read with no overlapping or
misplaced pictures?
Broken Images (6 points):
- Do all of the images appear
and no broken images? (If
you
are using some sort of free service, e.g.. translation, and it has
broken images it will not count against you.)
Broken Links (6 points:
- When you click on a link
in your
website does it
lead to any missing page errors?
Easy Navigation (15
points):
- Are all of the pages on your
site
interconnected
and is the navigation system user friendly and easy to find?
- Is any use of the back button required to navigate your
site?

(21 points):
- Your site will receive 3
points
for every page of
relevant (to your page),
dynamic (regularly updated), and interesting (something someone would
want to look at), or useful (something someone could use) content.
- If your
site has background music, does it have a control to turn it off?
No Script Errors and Good
Coding (8 points):
- Are there any broken or useless scripts on
your website?
- Is there visible or useless HTML code?
Consistent Theme (5
points):
- Is the theme / color scheme consistent
throughout all the pages on your website?
- Is the navigation similar or the same throughout most of
the pages of your site?
Good Color Selection (6
points):
- Does the color scheme on your
website hurt anyone's eyes or induce seizures? (Example: Blue on
Yellow,
White on Black, Orange on Red)
- Is the text and / or content on your site easy
to read?
No Under Cnstruction
Signs (3 points):
- Please submit complete
sites,
there
should
really be no under construction signs on a complete site. (This DOES
NOT mean that you cannot update your content, it is excellent if you
do.)
Originality (5 points):
- Is your site composed of original work?
- Do you use others work
with permission?
- NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENTS (see Disqulifiers.)
No Pop-ups (5 points):
- Please do not have any
pop-ups
on your site unless they
are
forced there by your web hosting service.
The TOTAL number of points
possible is
100.
The Three Different Levels of Awards:
There are three different levels of awards offered by KOSA Awards:
Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
Requirements:
Gold- 98 to 100 points
Silver- 90 to 98 points
Bronze- 75 to 90 points
Process and Notification:
All applicants
will receive confirmation within 5 days.
After your site has been visited and evaluated twice then you will
receive the results.
If your site is disqualified it may not be paid two visits.
All applicants
will receive their results
within 28 days.
Additional Notes:
Additionally, if you are awarded an award then you must display it with
a link back within two weeks.
IF YOUR SITE DOES NOT MERIT AN AWARD, YOU MAY REAPPLY 60 DAYS AFTER THE
ORIGINAL APPLICATION.
