San Diego 100 Mile Endurance Run, 2008

Start to Sunrise Hwy 5.9 miles cum. 5.9/55.9 miles
Start at the Cedar Grove below Camp Cuyamaca; go up the Upper Green Valley Fire Road for about 3.5 miles to a connector trail (1+ mile) that climbs parallel to La Cima road. Go RIGHT, across the paved road. Follow this trail for about 1.4 mile and enter into the back of the Sunrise Hwy Horse Camp aid station.
Sunrise Hwy to Pedro Fages 6.7 miles cum. 12.6/62.6 miles
Exit to the south by the restrooms and go 1.1 miles to a gate. Cross the Sunrise Hwy and take the short steep connector trail down to the PCT. Go left (north) on the PCT for 2.9 miles to a T-intersection the Mason Valley Truck Trail (dirt rd). Go left and follow the yellow-topped sign-posts of the California Riding and Hiking Trail for 1.4 miles to the Pedro Fages Aid Station located on the Sunrise Hwy (S-I).
Pedro Fages to Camp Cuyamaca 6.7 miles cum. 19.3/69.3 miles
Go west on the California Riding and Hiking Trail for 2.4 miles. At a T-intersection go right on the Soapstone Fire Road . Follow this trail as it meanders north for .92 miles. Go left (south) at the next intersection on to the Stonewall Creek Fire Road. Follow this dirt road downhill for 3.6 miles to the start/finish area.
Camp Cuyamaca to Paso Picacho 6.0 miles cum. 25.3/75.3 miles
You will go past the start area and circle back north on a single track trail. You will go just over one mile and go left and cross the HWY 79. Go past the horse gate and go north (right} on the single track Westside trail (DO NOT CONTINUE STRAIGHT UP THE DIRT ROAD). Continue on this trail for 3.2 miles as it runs parallel to HWY 79 and cross the paved park service road (Lookout Rd ). Turn right on to the Azalea Glen Fire Road. The course now circles around the campground leading down to the Paso Picacho Aid Station.
Paso Picacho to the Big Bend 5.1 miles cum. 30.4/80.4 miles Exit Paso Picacho at the entrance by CAREFULLY crossing Hwy #79; go left (NOT UPHILL) on to the single track Cold Stream Trail. Now follow the yellow-topped sign-posts of the California R/H trail to a right turn on to the Los Vaqueros trail. Go left on the Marty Minshall trail and follow it past the Stonewall Mine and horse camp to Hwy #79. CAREFULLY cross Hwy #79 and find the Big Bend Aid Station just past the gate.
Big Bend to Milk Ranch Road 5.8 miles cum. 36.2 miles/86.2 miles
Just beyond the aid station you will take the RIGHT turn north to the Middle Peak Fire Road. You will now climb for 2.5 miles to the top of Middle Peak. At the top, you will bear right and begin traveling down a long (2.5 miles) downhill (with two small climbs) on the Middle Peak Fire Road. Do not take any of the single track trails that you see along the way. At the bottom of the descent you will intersect with a gravel road just after a gate, go LEFT (uphill) on a gravel road for 0.4 miles to the Milk Ranch Aid Station.
Milk Ranch to Sweetwater Bridge 6.2 miles cum. 42.4/92.4 miles
Go past the wooden gate up a short but steep grade on the Azalea Spring Road . Follow the road as it winds north for 0.7 mile to the spring (good water). Go past the spring and up behind the pump house. The road now goes up and LEFT to an intersection with the paved Lookout Road . Go RIGHT and cross the road onto the Fern Flat Fire Road (dirt). You will now go downhill for several miles to the aid station at Sweetwater Bridge. You will come to a T-intersection along this section after about 1.4 miles. At this intersection go RIGHT (south) on to the Japacha Road. Follow this down to the bottom of the hill, go RIGHT (south) on the Westside trail. After going about 0.4 miles, take the connector trail on the LEFT that leads to the aid station. You will bear right and go under the bridge, crossing a small stream before reaching the SW Aid Station.
Sweetwater to Camp Cuyamaca 7.6 miles cum. 50/100 miles
Go east up the Harvey Moore Fire road for 0.1 miles. Go right on to the Eastside Trail; follow it south for 1.4 miles the East Mesa Fire Road. Go left uphill on a dirt road for 0.8 miles and turn left on to a connector trail. Follow this trail for 0.6 mile to an intersection. Go right (uphill) on the Harvey Moore Trail for one mile to the Dyar Spring Trail. Go left onto Dyar Spring Trail passing through a meadow to a spring in about a mile 1mile. Go to the right of the oak grove by the spring and follow the trail downhill to an intersection taking the Juaquapin Trail on the left of the horse hitching posts (0.75). Bear right, continuing on the Juaquapin Trail to to the Juaquapin Fork (0.42). Bear right again and follow this trail as it loops back around to the right (north) and intersects with the Eastside Trail. Go right on the Eastside Trail for 0.2 mile and go left on the trail that leads down to a creek crossing, around a horse camp to the Cedar Grove.
