Mt Gower

Mt. Gower is a San Diego County Open Space Preserve. The climbing area is a steep hillside with tons of boulders and some low to mid angle slabs. Some say the climbing here is great. The problem is that unless you actually live in Ramona or San Diego Country Estates, its a pretty long ways to go for what you get. However, sometimes its just fun to go some place different.

Access Issues: While there does not seem to be any issue with climbing in the Open Space Preserve, access is via corridors in a quiet residential neighborhood. Please be polite and quiet yourself so as not to create an access issue.

How to get there: From Highway 67 in Ramona, take San Vicente Rd east to San Diego Country Estates. When this road ends, turn left on Ramona Oaks Rd. After a mile or so turn left on Kerri Lane. A short ways up Kerri Ln and you will come to an open lot on the right that allows you to pass through to the open space. There are also a couple other access spots in the neighborhood if you drive around.
