Magnolia
Boulders
This Area
May Be Closed
Magnolia is a large hillside covered with
70 or more boulders. In the 1970's and 80's, the area served
as an alternative to Santee Boulders. The Great Western Bouldering
Championship was held here in 1982. In the mid 1990's, access
became questionable when a residential development began at it's
base. With the building now completed, it appears that access
is still available, although a bit more walking is required.
Please note that with the new housing development in place, access
is different than described in the Craig Fry guide, and orientation
of his topos may be a bit different also.

Magnolia is on private land and several signs are posted in the

Santee. In Santee, take Magnolia Ave. north almost to it's end
