Outdoor Artificial

San Diego has numerous outdoor artificial surfaces where climbers can boulder. The most popular are listed below.

La Jolla Peoples Wall -
Real rock holds, good landings, and beautiful scenery characterize the Peoples Wall. This man made retaining wall in La Jolla provides moderate bouldering for those looking for fun in the sun. It is about 100 yards long, varies from 8 to 20 feet high and overlooks the ocean. Look for it along Coast Blvd, 200 yds. south of the Childrens Cove in the popular Cove area of La Jolla.
Pump Wall -
The name "Pump Wall" pretty much describes this site. If you want to build up your endurance, give this place a try. Novices will find it difficult. Beware of high tides and the sharp rocks at the base. This vertical man made sea wall is located right on the ocean at the outskirts of Ocean Beach. It is 20 feet high and perhaps 100 yards long. From Ocean Beach, drive south on Sunset Cliffs Blvd. until you get to the coast. The Pump Wall is between Adair St. and Osprey St. Park directly above the wall.
