Land Use Decisions are key to Santee's Future


Santee, with a current population of approximately 53,000 is expected to add another 15,000 residents by 2020. Santee has over 600 new housing units approved for construction in 2004 and projects atleast several hundred more houses for 2005. Citizen inputs about how Santee grows and mitigates for growth impacts are key to protecting our quality of life!

Santee Central to the San Diego River Park


A new State Conservancy funded at $12 million has been created for the San Diego River . The Santee portion of the San Diego River Park is an invaluable asset for residents of Santee. Citizen participation in river projects can enhance our entire community.

Mission Trails Park to Sycamore Canyon Preserve -Santee's Golden Hills Provide Dramatic Scenery


Santee's beautiful ridgelines and rolling hills provide a recreational outlett and essential wildlife habitat for endangered species of San Diego County. Although major development was defeated by Santee voters in a lndslide vote, developers still covet these hillsides for large new subdivisions.

Santee Trolley Square the Focus of New Enterprise


The Santee Trolley Square shopping center successfully opened in 2002. Citizen input was important to the inclusion of pedestrian and bicycle oriented planning.

Forester Creek Restoration Project Approved


In a gratifying reversal of a creek paving proposal, the City of Santee has now approved a restoration project for Forester Creek to include a community bike and walking path.
