Mt Gower Open Space Preserve

Mt Gower is positioned on the east end of the San Diego Country Estates.

It is approximately 3300 ft in elevation and is about a 2 1/2 hour round trip hike from just

below the water tower and about 4 hours from the Mt Gower Open Space parking area.

It features a rock plateau just below the peak and a nice side rock climb to the peak.

Erosion does some "very" interesting things to solid granite including a "bigfoot" foot print.

Sunset on the Mountain

With the loss of my shade tree in the back yard I again have a wide open view of

My Gower which has regular "Red" shades at sunset as this photo dated 1/16/03.

Improved Trail at the Mt Gower Open Space

The trails and topo map (not complete) but does show the old "indian trail". I hiked that in 1997.
