Simon Preserve (Park)

Simon Park was dedicated 8 years ago as a Parks and Preserve by Carol G. and William E. Simon.

They dedicated this Park as mitigation for the Rancho San Vicente development that they had built.

The park contain 618 acres and has a peak at 2600 ft. and a set of rolling hills.

The main trail is the SDG&E easement coming up from the edge of the San Diego Country Estates and

Rancho San Vicente. We have a plans with parks to protect and make the park accessible.

Jan 25th 2003 Parks department worked with Joe Cahak and Dawn Perfect den mother of scout

troop 630 to plant 30 oak sapling for mitigation for the communities proposed San Vicente Memorial Trail.

I'm working so everyone can enjoy the view and Ramona side has access.

Last summer I caught three kids lighting a fire to cook Raman noodles in 90 degree weather.

You could see the Pine Fire just starting in the distance that day.

After informed parks and they took the problem seriously and posted No Open Flames signs in the park.

The park has numerous people accessing illegally with motorized vehicle and damage the trail and flora.

You can help by calling and reporting to the sheriff's department.

I pushed parks dept to take care of necessary paperwork, train the sheriffs dept on what was necessary

and make sure the park was posted for enforcement. There has also been illegal dumping on the preserve

on the west end off Hanson Road.

Help by calling station "M" or sheriff dept if you see illegal vehicular activity, fire starting, illegal dumping etc.
