Notice the convergence of East Elliot (City of San Diego proposed expansion of Mission Trails Park), MCAS Miramar (military), Santee Lakes (Padre Dam MWD.), and Fanita Ranch (Westbrook/City of Santee).

A Mission Trails Park Spur Trail connection via Sycamore Canyon to the "Spines to Pines" trail (Torrey Pines State Park to Anza Borrego Desert) will require either an easement from MCAS Miramar or easement from Padre Dam MWD and Fanita Ranch conservation/easement.

Trail linkage from Santee and Lakeside requires Fanita Ranch conservation/easement.

All of these lands are biological core needed for the long term survival of sensitive wildlife species and the sucess of the regional Multiple Species Consevation Plan (MSCP).
