Fanita Ranch - Santee's Crown Jewel as a State Park

Fanita Ranch meets all criteria for an outstanding addition to the state park system.

Urban Strategy:
Fanita Ranch (with well over a million people within a 20 mile radius) offers a wilderness experience to an urban population. Recreators can experience San Diego as it was 100 years ago, yet be only minutes from their homes, businesses and shopping.

City officials issued a stop-work order last week against Geocon, a geotechnical company, when it was discovered the company was destroying sensitive habitat on grassy hillside fields near San Diego's eastern border with Santee."
