Dr. John Savell is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana State University in 1992 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. He practiced in Lake Charles for 6 years and another 6 years in the Hampton area before taking ownership of Deer Park Animal Hospital. His hobbies include jogging and reading about the American Civil War. He is married to Karen Savell, LVT and has 2 daughters, Shelbey and Katelyn. His professional associations include: AVMA, VVMA, GPVMA
Karen Savell, LVT is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana and graduated from Northwestern State University in 1990 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She has been in practice since 1990 and is highly trained in anesthesia, in-house lab testing, radiology, surgery assistance, dental hygiene, etc. Her hobbies include painting and softball. She's married to Dr. John Savell and has 2 daughters, Shelbey and Katelyn.
Sheri Hovis has been a receptionist for us since September 2006. She is a native of Norfolk, Virginia and loves canoeing and horseback riding. She is married and has a son, Mason, 6 dogs and 2 birds! She's always ready to welcome you with a warm smile!
Carolyn Green is a native of Ashville, NC and is a receptionist here at Deer Park. She's got a degree in Early Childhood Education and worked at a nursery before starting to work with the "furry kids". She is married to Donald and has 3 grown children, Donald, Adam, and Lisa. Her hobbies include reading, shuffleboard, and Arts and Crafts.
