Pictures of our day trip to D.C.

November 21, 1999

Steve, Eileen, Ronin and Micah drove to Washington D.C. to spend a few hours with Steve's brother Ken and fiance Clara. (Since they were so close to Newport News --- only 3 hours away one way! But a lot closer than San Fransico.!)

Ken and Clara were there for the weekend so Ken could attend the IDSA Industrial Designers Society of America's- Designs of the Decade Awards.

Ken received two awards for himself and Lunar Design Company. One for medical & scientific squipment for the Acuson Sequoia 512 Utrasound System and in the Business and Industrial Products Division for the Apple PowerBook.

This was an incredible acheivement to win 2/36 awards for the decade.. We are obviously very proud of him...

Here are a few pictures we took. Ok we forgot to take pictures of ourselves! We are just learning to use the camera! We were too busy visiting as we walked.. We went up the Washington monument. Still being repaired. Walked to the reflection pool. Drove to Jefferson Memorial. Visited an Indian teepee set up near the Washington Monument for Indian Month. Ate hot dogs as we walked. And of course bought Pokemon teeshirts!

Ken and Clara managed to see more things on Saturday. This was their first trip to D.C. We had a bat mitzvah to go to so we joined them on Sunday.
