Frederick C. Sayles and William F. Sayles

In 1847 William Francis Sayles purchased Joseph Pimble Printworks in what was at the time Smithfield Rhode Island. In 1864 William's brother Frederick joined the firm which was known as W.F & F.C. Sayles Company. This textile company existed till 1961.

The Sayles brothers contribution to what is now known as the village of Saylesville in Lincoln Rhode Island (besides Sayles Memorial Congregational Church) includes:

The village of Saylesville does not look like a mill village due largely to the forward thinking of the Sayles Brothers.
