| ABOUT FIELD ARCHERY
Field archery consists of shooting 4 arrows at 28
targets. The target scores 5 for the spot, 4 for the middle ring, and a
black 3 ring. During the field round, adults and young adults shoot from the
white stakes, youth from the blue and cubs from the black. The target for
the hunter round has a white 5 point spot, and black 4 point and 3 point
rings. Basically you shoot at a white spot on a black target. Adults and
young adults shoot from the red stakes, youth from the blue, and cubs from
the black. We do an animal round during our open shoot months. These are
paper targets (not 3-d's), that have a kill ring and a wound ring. You shoot
up to three arrows and stop shooting when you hit the animal. If you hit the
target with the first arrow the scores are 20 points for kill, and 18 for
wound. Second arrow scores are 16 for kill and 14 for wound, third arrow
scores are 12 for kill and 10 for wound. Yellow stakes are used for animal
rounds. You can probably guess what your score will be if you miss all three
arrows! For more information about field archery click here
