Our next general meeting of the St. Bernard Sportsman’s League will be
held on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the Crustacean Room in the back of
Lehrman’s Seafood & Bar.  Please try to attend and help us plan for future
events! 
     A big ”Thank You” to Mike Cimino for hosting our recent fishing rodeo! 
Mike and Jill Dolese co-chaired the wonderful event and everyone in attendance
enjoyed the great food, hospitality and friendly competition.  The winners of
each category received a $90 cash award.  Winners are: Les Raybon – 3.3lb.
Speckled trout, Charles Fos – 7lb. Redfish, Charles Saylor – 9.14lb. Largest
fish (redfish), & Joe Medina/Audie Bachemin – 8.45lb Heaviest

     The Big Easy Redfish Cup is being held in Chalmette at the Gulf Outlet
Marina on July 31, Aug. 1 & 2.  The Sportsman League has committed to hosting a
casting contest for children on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 1st & 2nd.  This is a
great way to promote the outdoors to the children of the area and enjoy some
fun!  The casting event will take place from 10 am to 3 pm both days.  We are
looking for volunteers to help work this event, so if you could spare a few
hours to help our youths and promote sportsmanship, please call Joey Englert at
