Choir member sings once, prays twice, doubts no more

The first year I sang in the Manresa group #29 retreat choir, I had some second thoughts about my ability to do so. Would I be “good enough”? Or would my lack of experience and very limited talent be a hindrance?
Then, with only a slight smirk, I realized something that you may also identify with if you’ve ever been hesitant to sing... If you’re going to sing in the shower, you’re going to sound all washed up. If you’re going to sing for your supper, you’re going to sound hungry. If you’re going to sing for money, you’re probably going to sound poor. And if you’re going to sing for love, you’re going to sound just lovely. But if you’re going to sing your heart out for your Lord and God, you’re bound to sound divine to Him!
