104 men spend weekend with God
St. Charles Borromeo Parish was well represented at the Labor Day Weekend Retreat at Manresa. Of the 104 men on this retreat, there were 11 first timers.
Our Retreat Master was Father Kirk Mansell, S.J. Father Mansell is the newest and youngest (48 years old) Jesuit member of the Manresa Staff. He did a very good job at providing his interpretations of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. To sum up our Labor Day Retreat -- the weather was wonderful, the people were great, the talks were enlightening, the food was scrumptious, the quietness was deafening and all the Glory goes to God! One of the reasons that I believe that God is so awesome is because he allows me to hear different messages each time I participate in the Spiritual Exercises. Each Retreat shares commonalties: the grounds, the food, the rooms, the staff, the Spiritual Exercises, etc. Yet, the message that I walk away with is so different each time and it is the perfect message for that time in my life. So, I have concluded that God really does know what He is doing...always. I can't wait until I see what He has in mind for next year! ![]()
