The Nativity display

You will find no Santa, no elves, and no Rudolph in the Christmas display at Manresa. But the elaborate
crèche does include lifelike figures of the Holy Family along with detailed renditions of the Magi and their
caravan, and also the shepherd boys and their gentle charges. Many retreatants and visitors fall to prayerful
knees by the splendor of the sight and the sacred reason for the holy season.
Over 20 highly-detailed statues, which are nearly life-size, were fashioned and donated by Mardi Gras
master artist Blaine Kern. They are very tastefully illuminated after dark and are visible on River Road in
front of Manresa in Covent, Louisiana, from around a week after Thanksgiving until around the feast of the
Epiphany.
Note: If you visit while a retreat is in progress (generally from Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon, except
that there is no retreat between Christmas and New Year's), please respect the silence of the men's annual retreat.
