Rock group - It took a nine year old boy to notice the message in a handful of rocks picked up at random as souvenirs from the streets of the Holy land.
Last July, Manresa group #29 retreatmaster Deacon Bob Furlow showed a handful of rocks he had to over 100 men who had gathered for one of his lectures in Loyola Hall. He proceeded to relate the following true story, written by his friend Ray Whatley, of Baton Rouge.
My wife and I were in a small prayer group several years ago. A friend of ours in the group were going to the Holy land for business, and I asked him to bring back some rocks. He brought back these rocks that he picked up at random on the streets. No one in the group noticed anything special about the rocks. Several days later, I was praying before bed with my son, Sim, age 9 at that time, and I told him of the rocks. He said he had found them on my desk and that they spelled the word PRAY! Through the eyes of my child, I could see God calling me to Pray! This picture has been copied and shared in small retreats in our area,
and in our state prison. You are welcome to share it any way you like - it has really been a blessing to our family and friends.
