A complete retrofit
Four years after retiring from a chemical plant, with 30 years of service, and 17 years since my last retreat at Manresa, I would like to share my retreat thoughts with you.
Our spiritual needs might be compared to a unit in a chemical or refining plant. After being in service for many years, the unit needs some repairs/revisions. The old procedure for running the unit is still being used. The structure and piping, however, is getting older and worn but the unit is still making product. If the unit were new, a one-day turnaround may be all that was needed. If the unit has been in service for several years, a complete retrofit may be in order. I think I got the retrofit at Manresa.
