Alyssa Schneider & Lucas Roussel are deserving royalty

Based upon earnings in a $50,000 fundraiser for St. Charles Catholic High School, seniors Alyssa Schneider and Lucas Roussel were proclaimed royalty at the school’s annual Carnival Ball.

SCB TEENS REIGN AT ST. CHARLES CATHOLIC

The Lamb, June 2002

The Krewe de Charles is a Carnival Ball which is  a key fund raiser for St. Charles Catholic High School. SCC students raise money by selling ads and through other fundraising activities that are approved by the school principal. The couple who raises the most money is named King and Queen.

Enter St. Charles Borromeo parishioners and St. Charles Catholic seniors Alyssa Schneider and Lucas Roussel. Alyssa is the daughter of Men of Manresa parents Eddie and Sybil Schneider. Lucas is the son of Men of Manresa parents Dave and Ellen Roussel, and he has also been an actively involved member of the organization for several years now.

To raise money for the school, Alyssa and Lucas sold pajama pants and boxers in the school colors with a logo on them.  They also sold schedules at the football games, in addition to selling over 400 raffle tickets.  Even though the minimum participation was a whopping $1,000 per couple, the two friends raised the astronomical amount of $1,800 through their selfless and industrious efforts. The total amount raised for the school by all couples was close to $50,000.

Congratulations and many blessings to Alyssa and Lucas and to everyone who participated in the event, and blessings also to everyone who supported them through their purchases, guidance, encouragement and prayers. It is young people such as these who practice what Jesus taught us and keep this parish what it has been from generation to generation since 1723—faithful followers of Christ.
