My name is Capt. Todd MacGregor. I am a U.S.C.G licensed Captain, professional mariner and fishing guide, fishing the water of Buzzards Bay, the Elizabeth Islands, Martha's Vinyard, Cuttyhunk and the offshore waters of Massachusetts. I fish from Fairhaven Shipyard in Fairhaven, MA. I concentrate on hunting trophy stripers and jumbo blues. Night fishing is my specialty, although I will fish during the day to accommodate those who do not wish to fish at night. The MAC-ATAC is a 1994 25' Parker Deep Vee. She is powered by a 320hp Volvo which offers excellent range with her 173 gallon fuel tank, the MAC-ATAC has a 500 NM range. I am a recognized expert with extensive knowledge and I am endorsed by Gibbs Lures, Daiwa Rods & Reels, Navionics and ValvTect. I have been mentioned in countless newspaper and magazine articles, and was also recognized for my efforts by the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries with a tagging contract for the 2000, 2001 and 2002 seasons. Over 500 stripers were tagged with the largest of those being in the 50lb range. I am happy to take clients to catch mackerel, fluke, scup, sea bass and/or tautog----season permitting---school tuna, shark, and mahi-mahi (offered during July, August and September). The 2006 season saw good fishing and an increase in the recently absent bait
fish known as Menhaden. The 2007 season turned out to be a great
season. In 2007, I took 82 inshore charters for Stripers and
Blues. We took 170 Stripers in the 30 lb class, 23 Bass in the 40 lb.
class and 2 Huge Trophies over 50 lbs. -- with a 57 lb cow being the season's
largest. The offshore bite was strong with Tuna and Mahi. The shark
fishing was also good with sharks hooked and released up to 450 lbs.
2007 saw an even greater increase in inshore bait, especially menhaden and saw
a wide diversity of bait offshore. I expect the 2008 season to be very
strong with even bigger fish available for the taking!
