Every so often we will
feature a member of our group on this page.
It will be a chance
to show their work and perhaps explain how certain things were accomplished.
Our current Featured Member is Bobby Ramirez.
Bobby is a long-time member of the group and presents these shots. Virtually everything in them was modeled and rendered by Bobby in 3DS Max.

This model
of an SH60B Seahawk helicoptor was modeled
completely in splines/sufrace tools. Note the realistic blur of the rotors.
Very photographic.
One of the things Bobby likes to do most is play guitar, so it's fitting that the subject matter here is a guitar and amplifier. This hyper-realistic shot makes good use of realistic textures, maps, and ray-traced reflections.
This is a shot of the Sovremennyy, a Russian destroyer that Bobby had to create in Max for his job supporting the folks at SPAWAR here in San Diego. Nice textures (especially the water) and the wake make this shot quite realistic.
