Bead Fairies are magical creatures with vivid imaginations. And they are very generous beings who love to bring smiles to others. When they aren't hanging out on the Internet or causing mischief, they are sending beads to their friends. Not just any beads, mind you, but special ones that are products of changes in taste, overly enthusiastic purchases, broken jewelry and the like. We all have them sitting around in drawers, containers, boxes, zip lock bags, all over. To become a Bead Fairy one must make the leap of faith and decide to part with these little jewels in order to make someone else happy. Carefully go through all the beads, findings, supplies, feathers, containers, etc. and set asideeverything that doesn't interest you any more. If you bought too much of something, or only have one of a pair of something, or find the remains of an odd dye lot, or have projects you just don't feel like finishing or tearing apart to get the beads, then you can be a Bead Fairy! Place all these items in zip lock bags then place them in a suitably strong box appropriate for shipping. Write down the instructions for being a Bead Fairy and indicate what city and state or province in Beadland the box orginates from and send it to a dear friend who might like to be a Bead Fairy as well. That person then gets to take from the box whatever appeals to her or him and put back into the box what s/he doesn't want. Then that person gets to go through her or his beads and add to the box whatever is no longer needed or wanted. That person then includes the original instructions after adding the city and state or province she or he lives in. Now the box is sent on to yet another friend and the sender becomes an official Bead Fairy. Each time, the box is opened by a new person, they get to know all the places the box has been before and continue the process, possilby all over the globe, thus carrying out the original Bead Fairies' plan of world takeover by beads and happiness.
