Five SNES games, one Playstation game, cheapass 256-in-1 handheld
Video games at Red White & Blue which don't have John Madden's fat face plastered all over them?? Yes, non-sports games seem to have become a rarity at my regular thrift haunts lately, but someone finally gave up six games which don't feature playing with a ball as a main theme. Well, there's Faceball 2000, but that doesn't really count as a game. Each item was $2.95, save the handheld which was 95 cents.
01. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (Nintendo - 1992) It's Zelda, It's SNES: of course it's good. Old school gamers get painful erections over this game.
02. Street Fighter II Turbo (Capcom - 1993) Faster than the original and you can play as the bosses. I still think Super Street Fighter II Turbo is better, but only because it adds four more characters to the mix. Ultimately, either one is a blast for two-player shenanigans.
03. Faceball 2000 (Bullet Proof Software - 1992) Big pile of 3-D bullshit.
04. Star Fox (Nintendo - 1993) One of the first polygon-based games, and a pretty fun one to boot, this game was a graphical wonder back in the day. Too bad I forgot that I already owned this.
05. Yoshi's Cookie (Bullet Proof Software - 1993) Sort of a Dr. Mario/Tetris-esque puzzle game. Play as Yoshi, Mario, Princess Toadstool, or Bowser. Kinda fun, I guess. Kinda.
06. PaRappa the Rapper (SCEA - 1997) I gotta believe!! If you really don't know about PaRappa, check out this humorously philosophical review of it here. One of the first tap/beat/move-to-the-music games which are so popular with the young people these days.
07. 256-in-1 Pocket Arcade handheld Much like the Super Mouse, this thing is cheaply made and contains far fewer games than advertised. Also much like the Super Mouse, it contains the EXACT SAME GAMES as the Super Mouse. Same shitty handheld, different shell. Rats!
