"The Flying Tigers"

The 901st SFS is a fictional fighter squadron attached to SG-9 that is named for the famous World War II unit.

The 901st Flying Tigers is a squadron made up of advanced F-302 spacefighters based aboard the newly commissioned Daedalus Class vessel USS Constitution. The first BC-304 in the Milky Way to be assigned offworld, the Constitution operates out of the Beta Site, home base of operations for the SG-9 team. As a result, the members of the 901st as well as the resources aboard the Battlecruiser itself frequently participate in SG-9's missions as the need arises while also carrying out independent strikes against such enemy forces as the Ori and Lucian Alliance.

The pilots of the 901st are some of the most highly skilled in the world. Not only did they excel with aircraft they were assigned in the Navy or Air Force before joining the Stargate program, but many of the Flying Tigers were seasoned against such enemies as the Goa'uld over Antarctica and the Wraith over Atlantis. Their combined experience truly makes these men and women a force to be reckoned with.
