Head Coach Jarrod Bradley

Jarrod Bradley was born in Los Angeles, California, but was raised on both the east and west coasts. He played basketball, baseball and tennis as a youngster in Williamsburg, Virginia, and later in his high school years at Etiwanda High School in the San Gabriel Valley.

Jarrod moved to Santa Barbara in 1993 to attend the University of California, where he graduated with honors in 1998 with a B.S. in geophysics and a minor in athletic coaching. He was selected ‘Outstanding Athletic Coaching Graduate’ his senior year at UCSB. A year later he earned his Master's Degree in Education and Single Subject Teaching Credential and began his tenure at San Marcos High School.

Jarrod’s experience coaching began at 17 when he coached two tee-ball teams for the City of Rancho Cucamonga. He is now entering his tenth year teaching physics and ninth year coaching boys’ basketball and is only the fifth head coach in San Marcos history. In his first two seasons as head coach his teams have compiled an overall record of 35-21. In addition, Jarrod has led the Royals to a CIF playoff victory in each of the last two seasons and last year his team led Channel League in scoring differential.

Jarrod feels a responsibility to uphold the tradition of fine coaching for many years to come and hopes to bring a renewed sense of excitement and enthusiasm to playing basketball in the recently renovated Thunderhut.

In addition, Jarrod has coached the varsity boys’ tennis team the past seven years at San Marcos, where he has guided the team to the playoffs each season.

Jarrod resides in Santa Barbara where he owns and operates a successful local business.
