POLITICAL CORRECTNESS
History is filled with villains who have sought to destroy the scientists who have told the world what it was not willing to hear. I see no difference between the heavy handed use of "political correctness" today and the treatment of scientists by the idiots and clergy who used their positions of power to persecute the discoverers of truths. One need only recall the plight of Galileo:
Officials in the Roman Catholic Church condemned him and ordered him to do as they wished. Finally they put him on trial by the Inquisition, convicted and punished him. The people who did this and their progeny failed to recant the evil and errors of the Vatican until October of 1992.
Today we have the same attitudes embodied in the purveyors of political correctness. They fear truth and meet it with harsh words and actions, but would never stoop to addressing issues with understanding and factual discourse. They display their level of cognition via their ignorant heroes and their loathing of anyone who dares to produce data and observations which conflict with their false PC notions.
We have seen their garbage before, thrown at Jensen, Murray, Herrnstein, and even Shockley. While they heap scorn on real scientists, they worship the nonscientific press, literary reviewers, and political pundits. The Boston Globe typifies the nonthinking approach to dealing with science; this is the paper that launched an attack against The Bell Curve in the summer of 1994 without having seen it.
