What is VirginiaAside!?
We are a group of people (not necessarily just women!) dedicated
to the art and science of riding sidesaddle. The aim of VA! is
twofold. First, we desire to promote and educate about sidesaddle
riding within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Second, we wish to
bring Virginia’s sidesaddle riders together as a community
with our love of riding aside as our common bond. We are affiliated
with the International
Side-Saddle Organization (ISSO) and
as of February 2006, we are a member of Northern
Virginia Coalition of Equestrian Oraganizations
(NVCEO) to help further our goals.
What does VA! do?
We do not have regular meetings,
though we do hope to have at least one afternoon social gathering
in 2006. Tea, anyone? We also have booths at Virginia horse expos
and are a contact point for demo and clinic organizers. Together,
we are a network of friends who can provide knowledgable advice
and support for any aspect of riding aside.
Membership
Membership in VirginiaAside! is free! All you have to do is subscribe
to our mailing list, and you’ve become one of us. The mailing
list is a Yahoo!Group, and so has photo and document sharing abilities,
as well as a viewable calendar that also sends out reminders.
The list is moderated to protect from spammers.
