Event East
VirginiaAside was at the 2006 Equine Event East, March 17-19 in Chantilly, VA. We generated a fair amount of interest from visitors, and got many of them to try our headless horse. A few old friends were met again, and a number of current and past sidesaddle riders stopped by just to say "hi!" And, best of all, more than one naysayer went away with an entirely different outlook on riding aside. Jeannie manned (womanned?) the booth full-time, with lifesaving assistance from Carla Peetros of PA on Saturday. (Janet Brown had planned to come, but had a last-moment family emergency.)
Next, year, we will not be opposite the ISSO awards banquet
(see below for VA! members that were recognized!), so we hope
more folks will be able to lend a hand. Many thanks to NVCEO for
arranging the bulk space that made it affordable for us to come
and show off sidesaddle to the Northern Virginia horse community.
2006 ISSO Awards
While some VA! members stayed closer to home with the expo, others made the longer trek to the 2006 awards banquet in Vineland, NJ. And VA! members sure took home their share of the loot!
