Recovering from Loss and Grief
An opportunity for people to receive care and encouragement,
from a Christian perspective, as they walk
through this difficult time in their lives.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this program is to help people who have suffered loss to recognize and accept grief as a normal experience of human life. It is also to help sensitize family members, friends, and church members to the various expressions of grief and offer positive suggestions on how to bring help and encouragement to those who are grieving.
FOCUS
- To share common experiences of loss and grief.
- To share some of the basic emotional dynamics of loss and grief.
- To help people discover ways to go through grief and also to bear one another's burdens.
- To share ways in which people can receive strength from trusting in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Follow up help is available for those individuals who so desire.
SCHEDULE
This program consists of three meetings, each about one-and-a-half hours long. These can be scheduled to meet in a church, or even in a home. The day of the week and the time of the day are negotiable.
