Who is Sam? New Stuff Archives: August02 |
News item: <http://www.nytimes.com/2002/09/02/opinion/02HERB.html> Judge Damon J. Keith of the sixth circuit wrote that ". . . Democracies die behind closed doors . . ." as he ruled in favor of just one of many individuals held without charges, without bail, without human rights by the USA under the Fourth Reich. It is fitting that I bid adieu to this blog and to freedom in America with my final (promise) words of dissent and contempt. Tell Judge Keith to wake up and smell the coffee; democracy died in the USA in December of 2000. We are almost to December of 2002, and Judge Keith hasn't noticed that the only information that the people of America get they can trust today is from FOREIGN media. The doors are STILL closed on Chainsaw's "energy meetings," and no one will tell the people that the only reason for the Iraq-Iran adventure or crusade is oil. I heard very little from Judge Keith on the subject of the criminal opinion of the USC on the Bush v Gore case, and I heard no more from Vince Bugliosi and we no longer see Alan Dershowitz on TV in America . . . the White House press corps is a fawning bunch of toadies who publish the lying handouts as truth, and the TV media put on palpable and patent liars with not a single note of correction to what they say. What is this asshole, crooked judge doing about Padilla and Hamdi and others who seem to have "lost" their right of habeas corpus along with a few Constitutional rights? Hero . . .? A real hero would be pushing for the impeachment and removal of AssKKKroft, who is a joke as AG, and whose confirmation is all the evidence you will ever need that the Congress is toothless and worthless. Democracy and the American Republic are based on the Constitutional principles of separation of powers, checks and balances, and a free and unintimidated reporting function by the fourth estate. All Judge Keith has done is put himself and his colleagues into the cattle cars for Texas; he has struck no blow for democracy, only identified himself as an enemy of the junta. While he votes on a ruling for some mullah, a thousand people languish in jails with no right to an attorney, no charges filed, no evidence offered, no confrontation by accusers, nothing. And there is nothing Keith can do about it now . . . the time to have stood up and done something is past; the junta is in power, and they can take you, me, and Judge Keith off to Texas or South Carolina and hold us indefinitely for no charge any goddamned time they want to do so . . . they likely don't even have to feed us or give us a place to take a dump. Who is to stop them? Not Judge Keith; not the chickenshit Congress; not the corrupt SC; not the complicit corporate owned and operated propaganda mill called newspapers and tv networks. Someone write to Keith and tell him he lives in a fascist state now; that we have a totalitarian government which will pay not one iota of attention to his pitiful ruling in the 6th Circuit. Tell him that there are surely people who attended Chainsaw's secret energy meetings who would tell the media about them, but that the media won't ask, and if some reporter does find out, the media won't report it and will fire his ass for trying. Clinton worried about his legacy; it is now clear
what his legacy is. He will be known as the last President of a free America,
indeed the last President at all, for the Bush regime is a dictatorship.
8/31/02 It's been and interesting 3 months; maybe I should go back and read what I wrote during these sad and sorry times to find out why my only visible readers were one local who evidently got here via a "computer club" connection and a whining child who delivered snot. Oh I did have one fellow blogger, Doug Wiken, back there when one of my well meaning friends posted this URL on Salon's Table Talk, but except for that and the aforementioned pair, it's been as lonely as masturbation hereabouts. Maybe the public isn't ready for me----yeah, that's it </irony>. So I have one final comment, which covers all this and the Bush administration, and the idiot puppet child at its head, and of course the nugatory Democrats. Shit. 8/30/02 Chainsaw Dick has gone on the hustings to present Sodomy Insane as the Hitler of the 21st century; I think he ought to look closer to home for the dictatorship driving the world into war, and I assure you that I do not mean Cuba's Castro, but refer you to the more or less oligarchy or totalitarian state right here in America, the one with George Witless Bush titularly at the helm, though that puppet's strings are pulled by as yet unknown hands. I frankly don't see Saddam as a threat of any distinction to world peace or to the USA . . . after all, he has been in office for 34 years, and his war with Iran was not of his making, and his war with the "coalition" was a result of his doing with Kuwait about the same thing England is doing with Ireland or Russia with Chechnya---in other words, the same as China is doing with Taiwan, and India and Pakistan are both doing with the Kashmir . . . so Mr. Hussein will have been in two little wars in 34 years where Mr. Bush will have been in two wars in less than 24 MONTHS. Please notice that the GOP picks its wars quite well . . . they never were so eager to confront the Russians and the Chinese, but give them a Grenada or a Panama or some arab country which knows nothing of fighting beyond some people riding across the desert on horseback and camelback, some country like Afghanistan which is solidly locked into the weaponry of World War One, and they are hawks to a man. Indeed, we have contained Saddam quite well by merely being ready to conquer him should he give us even a hint of a reason, so what we are reduced to doing now is making a sorry and pitiful EXCUSE for going over there to unseat Saddam Hussein whom we helped to put into power, and whom we helped to KEEP in power until he got greedy and wanted to steal back the port facilities and the oil from tiny Kuwait, which of course was originally part of Iraq anyhow . . . And why do we need an excuse? Because we want to control their oil, and Saddam stands in our way. Oh, and by the way, our saying we want to establish a democratic form of government for Iraq is patently ridiculous. We care nothing for democratics in Saudia Arabia or any of the other Arabian Gulf oil producers; we care nothing for democratics in Pakistan; we care nothing for democratics in Cuba; we care nothing for democratics in China; we care nothing for democratics in Italy; we care nothing for democratics in the USSR "stan" satellites with whom we do business, and we care nothing for democratics in our own country, which has turned into a totalitarian state. The American media is at fault again . . . someone has to ask Chainsaw Dick and Witless George the BIIIIIIG question: what do we plan to do with the Iraqi oil when we get control of it? 8/29/02 Finishing out the month, I posted the following on my listserve: The latest "Invade Iraq" excuse seems to be tied to terrorists who have gone there . . . . there are supposedly some who support "al Qa'ida" (whatever that is, IF it actually exists at all) in the USA. Maybe we need a regime change in Washington. I am truly ashamed of my government; we are making up excuses for our adventurous crusades and aggressions, and the exuses are as lame and hollow as those of the old Soviets . . . First we had Sec'y (General) Powell telling us that he hadn't personally seen the "proof" of bin Laden's involvement in the 9/11 hostile acts, but that he had been told it exists, and he'd share it with us as soon as he had it. Well, he never got it, did he? We went on and invaded Afghanistan with nothing but promises and lies. We are now at the point where we have to proceed, and the lies about connections between Saddam and bin Laden and 9/11 abound, but we still don't know who was really the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks. Our pitiful government can't even prove bin Laden exists or was alive when the 9/11 attacks were planned and executed. I used to tell a friend of mine (now dead, grhs) that one shouldn't have to make excuses for doing something or not doing something, but if one did, one should say about anything at all, "I don't want to go to this reception because I don't like mayonnaise," or perhaps, "I can't attend your party because I don't like Frank Sinatra." Of course neither of these things is true: I like both mayo and Sinatra music, but as I pointed out to my friend, whatever excuse is offered is apt to be a lie, and thus we might as well use one which is at the very minimum, obviously irrelevant. At least that way, you won't find yourself arguing with someone who INSISTS on doing so about some fake excuse . . . an argument you would of course have to lose even if you then STILL refused to go or do what was asked of you. Perhaps our excuse for wanting to invade Iraq should be something like "I like both Frank and mayo." Or better still, "We are going to Iraq because we like vinegar and OIL." And while we are on this subject, why do you suppose
the "Chainsaw energy meetings" were not videotaped, recorded, transcribed,
and kept for all of posterity? Do you think anyone involved in them will
ever come forward and tell us what went on? I doubt it myself; I suspect
that they will all be so ashamed of what they did that not one man of them,
and I will bet you a thousand dollars that not one woman was present, not
one man will own up to having any part in what those shameful people set
out as our "policy."
8/28/02 I suppose this will be the last of it. Ninety days and the best I can show for is a letter from one of my Pensacola neighbors who kindly said, "Glad to know that there is someone else crazy around here," and another from a strange person who just had to inform me that blogs were ego trips (as if I didn't know that and ought to be better informed), and also had to ferret about and find my picture so as to observe that I must have false teeth. It's the old thing of "with friends like these, who the hell needs enemies?" So I'm going to let it go now . . . the tree falling in the forest with no one to hear . . . the voice in the wilderness with none to mark it . . . but I must finally exhort any and all not to blame Bush. He really doesn't know what is going on anywhere and that includes in the White House in which he was installed as the puppet President. He is a pitiful creature whose best loved sandwich is peanut butter and jelly, and he can't use the English language any better than he does the Mexican one, which is to say about as poorly as any adult alive who isn't on a drug or alcohol induced journey into fantasy land. You can blame Chainsaw Dick if you like; he is a great liar and an arrogant fool, much like Tom DuhLay. You can blame Rove, and you can blame Karen Huge for they allowed the charade to unfold, the one in which an imbecile pretends to be President of the United States. Mostly you can blame George the First, not the brightest bulb in the chandelier to begin with, and you can blame Jimmy Baker, and you can blame Frank Carlucci, all of Carlyle, and you can blame countless corporate pirates who use the Bush White House for their own purposes, but mostly you can blame both the propagandizing media who let a man who is more than just mentally challenged go UNchallenged, and you can blame the stupid people of America, both the voters, half of whom voted for the retarded Bush, and the non-voters who couldn't be bothered to find out for themselves so as to save their democratic form of government for themselves and the world. But don't blame poor, witless GeeDubya; he didn't do anything, didn't know anything, and of course he never will. 8/26/02 I have been so depressed by the ignorance and utter callousness of the Bushitters that I have taken to watching bad sporting events on TV to get away from politics . . . .even to looking at NFL preseason exhibition games . . . what's next, wrestling? What drew me out of my doldrums this morning was some idiot who came on a news channel and proclaimed that "Iraqi soldiers won't fight for Saddam." Get real; I have nothing but contempt for poor George Bush, the imbecile who was elevated to the American Presidency by ugly and vicious fascists, and I have now lost every bit of respect I mistakenly had for Dick Cheney, and furthermore I have not one iota of confidence in the entrire Congress of the USA, and STILL ----- were I conscripted to fight once more as a U.S. Marine, I would do my job, hold up my end, and take or hold ground for the officers and NCOs of that fighting force. Feeding people the notion that fighting men of any country have political ends and fight only for "popular" leaders is the most egregious kind of claptrap nonsense. I doubt that most of the regular soldiers of an Iraqi army are well trained, and I suspect that is true of nine tenths of the arab forces in the entire Arabian Gulf region, but selling the idea that the Iraqis are going to "roll over" for the admittedly superior American troops because they "don't like Saddam" is just stupid. Another thing which is stupid is putting out a bunch of Iraqi dissidents who have expatriated to sell the overthrow of their country's government. Actually those people could be seen as TERRORISTS. What would you call a bunch of American Islamic people in Afghanistan organized by some arab who say they are for the overthrow of the government of the USA? Traitors, terrorists, would be the least profane sobriquets used for them, but here we are using Saddam's traitors and terrorists here in the USA and in Europe as our agents. Thanks to P. Glass for the following link. <http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A60916-2002Aug25.html> "The Bush administration, concerned it is losing the debate in world opinion over a possible war with Iraq, this week is bringing 17 Iraqi dissidents from Europe and North America to the State Department for lessons in how to effectively communicate the reasons to depose Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein." The reasons the Bushitters want to depose Saddam Hussein are all related to oil. The Bushitters SUPPORTED the same Saddam Hussein who did the same things only worse when they were in power during the Reagan and early Bush years, and the Nixonites supported him also. They want to "depose" Iraq's ruler now for only one reason, and the minutes of the "energy meetings" would tell you about this if you were allowed to see them. 8/20/02 Iraqi Embassy in Berlin: terrorist group holding hostages, holding Iraqi ground, rifling files, injuring people employed by the Embassy. What will our fascist government in Washington (or Crawford) have to say about this? I will wait here to see, but I predict it will be hypocritical, as is every other decision and act by the Bushitters. Well, I didn't hear the word "condemn," though the spokespeople did manage to wink and nod and say they didn't exactly approve of hostage taking, even as they have held the Iraqi people hostage for 12 years or so. And that includes the Clintonites, who are definitely not covered with glory in the matter of Iraq, but at least they didn't create the monster as Reagan and Bush and Kissinger and Baker and the rest managed to do out of playing mideast political games with the lives of real people. I will make one observation on the current news, which is that terrorist groups of Islamic militants have been somehow observed to be "doing" chemical weapon studies in the part of Iraq NOT controlled by Saddam Hussein, but by the selfsame and wonderful Kurds that we want to support so they can overturn the Iraqi regime in power in Bagdad. We surely do pick fine "friends," don't we? 8/19/02 Terrorist camp or Oregon potato farm? Whichever it is or was, the DoJ-FBI has another American citizen in custody and won't charge him or allow him to get a lawyer. His brother, who hasn't been charged YET with anything, says he is only an American Muslim who disagrees with America's current foreign policy, something with which I can certainly identify, because I disagree with America's foreign AND DOMESTIC policies in toto; there is not one thing the Bushitters in power have done or ar apt to do with which I expect ever to agree even in small part. If you like, I am precisely the same as every Republican alive when Clinton was President, because at that time Clinton did not draw a breath which was not a wrong and horrible act in the eyes of the GOPites. I don't blame Bush. Bush is not in charge. Bush is not competent even to know what is done in his name. Bush is a cipher if there ever was a cipher in this world, let alone in American politics. I do blame the Bushitters, the nameless junta who captured the USA in a coup which left us governed by some faceless corporate and oil merchants who care not a whit for the American public or for humanity or human decency. I blame the gutless and whimpering Congress whose powers under the Constitution have been made nugatory by the combination of the executive junta and their previously bribed and wholly cooperative Supremely Corrupt Court. A new subject: WOW! our marvelous government has come on a treasure trove of TAPES, VIDEOTAPES, depicting the "al Qa'ida" in revelry, in work, and in play, and they say this "treasure" of tapes will be used in many ways to IDENTIFY the al Qa'ida members and show their affiliation with this super secret organization which seems to be about as transparent as the Campfire Girls (and Boys). I guess the super secret organization isn't so secret after all . . . we have their uniforms (they all wear black and yellow kilts under puce burnooses), their secret handshake (right handed with middle finger extended), their tattoo (their member number tattooed inside their lower lip), and their secret salute (middle finger extended facing the USA from wherever they are), and all those things will serve to identify any al Qa'ida members we happen to see while we are delivering your mail or servicing your Maytag washer. And of course we are SHARING this with the world because we have turned about a quarter of the tapes over to CNN so they can show them during times when the news is bad about an new economic or financial scandal attached to the Bushitters, or when someone else finds more evidence about the complicity of the Bushitters in allowing 9/11 to proceed without trying to stop the hijackers. When the bad news about the Bushitters is just too bad to air, then we can dust off our aQ tapes and show bin Laden and his merry band of Riffs riding through the desert on their Arabian steeds singing "HO! So we sing as we are riding ho! It's a time you best be hiding low. It means the Riffs are abroad . . ." (apologies to Sigmund Romberg and Oscar Hammerstein Jr. who wrote those lines for "Desert Song.") Obviously CNN got its "news" of these marvelous tapes from the DOD, and that means Donny the Rumhead . . . and thus, I think you can discount them as having not one iota of significance . . . not one. 8/16/02 I heard the imbecile yesterday; it was a mistake, one such as I sometimes make when I am too far from the remote to mute Sandy Sansing, a nasal and equally idiotic car salesman, for I do not allow Witless to make political statements aloud in my living room. There is no point to listening to what this cretin mouths for Karl; the monkey doesn't know what the tricks mean to humans, only performs them when the organ grinder commands it. But you can't unring the bell, can you? What the fool said was something about what we HAVE to do because of the WAR. The ignorant AND stupid jerk wouldn't know a war from his simian adams apple or his left monkey's eye if the war came and bit him on his syphlitic cheek. Yes, I was but a child during the second world war, but I was a participant in the Korean "police action," and my neighbors and loved ones fought and died in Vietnam. Those were wars. Reagan's invasion of Grenada wasn't a war, and Bush's invasion of Panama wasn't a war, though Bush's "protective action" in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq qualifies as a war. The "drug war" isn't a war, and chasing a handful of criminals who may or may not be attached to or taking orders from Osama bin Laden is most definitely not a war, no more than tracking down and capturing Tim McVeigh would have been "a war." If I hadn't heard it I wouldn't have to be saying this. The malignant monkey is LYING to you; there won't be any war until this foolish oaf can define where the enemy is, what threat the enemy poses, what must be done to conquer the enemy and neutralize the threat, and finally what must be done with the vanquished foe to guarantee that peace prevails. Maybe what the monkey means is that he PLANS to go to war to steal the oil from Iraq, Iran, and other unspecified as yet "enemies" in the Arabian Gulf who withhold their oil reserves from the USA? 8/15/02 Iraq Attack: I suggest to you that if and when we the people can be convinced by the Bushitters that Iraq poses an IMMEDIATE threat to the United States----not Israel---the United States of America, that we will then be ready to invade Iraq and remove whatever threatens our own peace and serenity. Right now there is one primary threat to peace for the USA, and it is the Bushitters themselves. Further, I suggest to you that should the UN sanction in any way our seemingly inevitable attack against Iraq, likely also Iran, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Yemen, the Emirates (whatever they are called today), and Kuwait, then there is no more use for the United Nations, because the World Peace organization has become a WORLD WAR organization. Sadly I must point out that the USA has become an aggressor nation, a rogue nation, and a bully. We had plenty of reason to form a coalition of world nations to go after the perps who slaughtered about 3,000 Americans with a vicious and useless attack on innocent people, but we have lost the high moral ground because we are now no longer interested in fighting terror so much as we are obsessed with getting OIL. 8/14/02 What is it which has turned the silly media to an obsession with snatched children? It happens hundreds of times a year, has happened hundreds of times a year, and will likely go on happening hundreds of times a year, so what has caused us to be assailed and assaulted with tales of child abductions ALL OF A SUDDEN? Could it be that the media wishes that someone would abduct the child it helped to put into the White House? Can they possibly now have misgivings about not only the competence of the cretin they promoted, but about their own guilt in not noting the abject IGNORANCE of the boy fool, George Witless Botch? Every report I have seen of the Witless one's "economic summit," which was more of a nadir (or a result from talking under water) than could be called a high point, was scathing in its irony and filled with statements about "politics," but I didn't watch Fux News or Aaron Brown try to put a clean face on the disaster of the day. The stupid one, yes our President, was quoted as saying the "people I talked to said they wanted to see some corporate evildoers in handcuffs," and he mentioned Martha Stewart as if she had already been convicted, and he personally pronounced her guilty of---get this---the same kind of fraud that he himself perpetrated in his Harken stock sale. Sorry Witless, but Stewart PAID for HER stock and sold it perhaps at a loss, but certainly not to make a killing. I doubt that many "ordinary people" have spoken to Witless about this matter of corporate mischief, but if they have, they would be more like I and want the thieves to restore the money to the ones from whom they stole it, rather than care about the CEOs going to jail for a few years or months before coming out and spending the millions they have stashed in the Caymans. I have also changed my opinion of Cheney since I have seen him lately: I used to think he was fairly smart; now I think he is not only dumb, but arrogantly so, because he now puts out patent lies and seems not to know that intelligent people can see the truth that he isn't saying. Once in a while the intelligent people have to lie; I understand that; but they at least have the decency to be ashamed of their lies and try to cloak them in enough truth to soften the impact of the ugly lies. Not so our Veep. This one spits in our faces; this one doesn't shake his finger but still says to us, "I didn't have a gangbang of the American Public with that man Ken Lay." 8/13/02 I had a very nice and rewarding exchange with Kim Sayers yesterday; she is an old friend from my Salon Table Talk days, and what I learned is that we should all be aware of the name Sam Zakhem. This name pops up in the FOG (friends of George) in many ways, some perhaps strange. Sam Z is currently running for Congress in one of the newly formed Colorado districts, but he was seen in Bahrain as Ambassador at about the time that Harken got a lucrative contract there to search for oil. He was also seen raising money to promote the Gulf War, and at last sighting he was in the mideast raising money for the Witless campaign in 99 . . . I guess from rich American citizens living over there since any other money would be illegal. On the other hand, maybe you should ask Haley Barbourous about that since he found a way to legalize foreign money for political purposes . . . 8/12/02 Hatfill: media tool for ignoring the stupidity of George Witless Bush today. There will be another tool tomorrow, and another and another as we creep in this petty pace from day to day. Why are our media not homing in on the Bushitters and their imperialistic oil grabs? Where is the justification for even TALKING about invading Iraq or Iran as we have already invaded Afghanistan, all three of which never posed any serious problem to the security of the USA, and none of which would seem to be contemplating any attack on us or any of our allies-----with the express exception of Israel who have taken our money and our weapons and killed thousands of arabs and stolen millions of acres of arab land, and who it is said has the very same nuclear wmd's that we use for an excuse for invading Iraq without any other provocation. Where ever did the USA get the idea that ANY country, good or bad, on the face of the earth hasn't the right to develop any nuclear facility or bomb it can pay for? We got a concession from Iraq ten years or more ago that they wouldn't develop wmd's, and as far as we know for a fact they have not. We are fully prepared to GO TO WAR on the strength of what we SAY that Iraq MIGHT have done and/or COULD possibly do at some time in the unspecified future. I'll tell you what: I trust Sodomy Insane to be a wary and cautious enough maniac to be able to keep from using nuclear devices, the employment of which would GUARANTEE his immediate death. I'll tell you something else: I don't trust the Bushitters junta to be that wary and cautious, because their use of nukes would likely cost them nothing at all, either personally or politically. The entire world already has come to distrust and hate America because of the policies of the Bush junta; they have nothing to lose. They are the fourth reich; they are the ugly Americans; they are the oil imperialists. 8/11/02 Just haviing some fun today with a poem I found in AmPolJournal . . . sung to the tune of the Colonel Bogey March, I had to have a go at it . . . <http://www.americanpolitics.com/20020804Marsden.html> is the url in case the link doesn't work . . . so I created a page to incorporate the music AND the upgraded words for the poem and put it here. 8/10/02 More on the Cheney "energy meetings" . . . I think that because the Bushitters won't SAY what went on, COVER UP what went on, indeed want to keep what occurred a secret, that the ONLY thing responsible reporters can do is to SPECULATE about what COULD HAVE gone on which is so bad that Cheney wants to hide it from the public. Instead of scaring American parents with false talk of an increase in child abductions like they did LAST year with false talk of an increase in shark attacks, the media ought to take seriously its responsibility to the democratic way and start pushing Cheney to come clean so that we don't have to wonder any longer about what he's hiding. But of course since he and the rest of the Bushitters have successfully hidden the fact that the Congress is now nugatory, the rights of Americans are now illusory, and democracy has been replaced by an oligarchic dictatorship of oil, defense, and money moguls, there likely isn't a media outlet anywhere save on the internet which can and will publish or air the truth about the Bushitters and their takeover of America and the result of their organization, which is a totalitarian state. All I ask is that you compare this current government of the USA with those of Hitler, Stalin, Castro, Zemin (or Mao), Amin, Milosevic, or Sharon. This government is doing things "for the war effort" which were not done even with the fifth column fears during World War 2, and it is doing very ugly things with citizens' rights and "big brother" snooping. I'd like to be wrong about all of this, but unfortunately every day brings more evidence that I am not whistling Dixie. At least we can make them OWN UP to it. 8/8/02 Question of the day: what can possibly have gone on in Cheney's "energy meetings" which would cause the Vice President to go to court to keep from naming even the participants in those meetings, let alone making public the minutes and notes from the individual sessions? We won't know, will we, until we find some people who participated and who are willing to take polygraph tests to substantiate what they tell us of what they recall? A sub-question (follow) for today might be about notes and if such were prohibited, why that would be necessary with regard to setting GOVERNMENT POLICY in an area as important and critical to all Americans. I can't begin to tell you how important this is for every person on the face of the earth. What do I think went on in the "energy meetings?" I don't have a clue, but that won't stop me from continuing to wonder why they have to cover it up. If there was a heavy emphasis on the USA controlling Afghanistan, it would be significant for many reasons, not the least of which would be that it showed exactly why we INSISTED on bombing Afghanistan instead of negotiating some diplomatic solution on the subject of how we find and try bin Laden for whatever complicity we can prove he had in the 9/11 attacks. If there was talk about "bringing Pakistan into line," then we might unravel a plot which involved threats against the dictatorial regime of Mushrat and their "friends" the Taliban in Afghanistan, and how embarrassing for the Bushitters that all of this would have taken place long before the 9/11 attacks gave us any excuse for invading and taking over Afghanistan and making Mushrat our puppet. Indeed, there is already talk that the OIL (Caspian Sea oil pipeline coming across Afghainistan and Pakistan to the Arabian Gulf) negotiations which had taken place and failed had finished up with American representatives stating rather succinctly that the only option left to the USA was the "war option." Yes, Arianna Huffington is correct that Mr. Cheney has been absent for questioning, and not just for his part in the Halliburton-Arthur Andersen mess. In addition to the "energy questions" Cheney also has to explain why he failed so miserably in his assignment to have a "terrorism assessment" project underway which might have resulted in catching the hijackers before they killed 3,000 people and destroyed two major skyscrapers. Another pretty good question to ask might be how many people died in the destruction of about a tenth of the Pentagon and why the casualties were so light. Might that answer be similar to the one about why John AssKKKoughed wasn't flying commercial airlines for quite a while prior to 9/11? How many others of the "inner cadre" didn't fly commercial? When can we expect answers to questions like these? Here's one from New York: I believe that Enron International was the subject of many of the conversations, the gist of which would be embarrassing to the US government and compromise other governments around the world. It could cause revolutions in some countries if the public learned how their corrupt leaders were selling them out to Enron. Take Colombia, Venezuela, India just for starters. ..... P. Glass, NY City 8/7/02 Boy George has run off to Crawlford, TX, but that doesn't matter, for if there is one person alive not necessary to the actual working of the government, it will be the imbecile. The Noo Yawk Post is now telling us that Qatar is our next airbase for sorties to destroy command and control facilities along with civilian structures such as milk factories and hospitals, and don't forget Chinese Embassies. Do you suppose that George Witless knows where Qatar is and can find it on a map? Do you suppose he can READ a map? You may say, "Oh certainly he can read maps; he was a FLYER in the TANG, wasn't he?," but my next question will be, "Was he?" Can you imagine this inarticulate, fuzzy math, stumblebum drunk ever doing complicated navigational calculations, and would you want him in charge of finding out where you are and how to get back to a safe landing field when your light aircraft is lost in a storm? Would you want this offhand drunk and business failure in charge of the efforts to find your lost children on a mountainside in Colorado where they got lost on a Boy Scout hike? I can't imagine why so many of you voted for this imbecilic chimpanzee for President----unless you did so knowing that it was impossible that he (or any congenital idiot) could win, and you wanted to register your disapproval of Al Gore and his silly excuses about "controlling authority." Now you pay the price for making your statement: you get an imbecile in the White House, but you have done it before; you did it with Ronnie the gum drop king, but even with Alzheimers Ronnie had 100 or 1000 times the brainpower of the Boy George. Witless is gone to Crawlford; he will commune with cows there instead of elementary level school children; the cows are more satisfactory for him because he is slightly smarter than they, while he is still in deficit when confronted by a normal nine year-old. There is the added spice of life for this Vietnam era coward: he is said to be afraid of cows. Of course he will have the secret service with him at all times to protect him from the beasts, so don't get your hopes up that his stupidity will cause a stampede, and we will promote Cheney to the job he mostly does in the first place. Question of the day: how many US troops are currently located in Afghanistan? You might also ask exactly where they are and what is their purpose, if you are of a mind to be difficult. 8/5/02 Anyone notice that the Bushitters were NOT out in force this weekend on the gasbag shows defending their supposed plan to invade Iraq in October? Why would they be leaking all this stuff about their impending Iraq attack and not coming forward to defend their position? Why were they not in much evidence for the Biden committee hearing on Iraq? Why were we subjected to the same old tired saws from Richard Butler about how evil Saddam Hussein is and how the absence of evidence that Hussein has wmd's is evidence that he has them? No, the Bushitters don't want to provide us with irrefutable evidence that they are prone to lying. By leaking info on the impending invasion of Iraq, they can present a false picture without actually saying they plan an invasion in October when in fact they don't plan to invade Iraq until sometime in 2004 so the victory can be celebrated with a massive "reelection" of the imbecile, OR the ongoing war can be used to PUT OFF the election if it seems that there is insufficient vote fraud available at that time to guarantee a victory for the pretender, and I use that word advisedly, not to describe one who wants the throne, but as one who only pretends to be President while others make the decisions and do the work. My feeling is that the real plan will never be leaked; we will have to wait and see where their feet take them to know where they were going all along. Please be advised that "finishing daddy's job" has nothing to do with any part of the plan. The plan is based on one commodity, oil. And by the way, the offer of Iraq to allow inspections indicates one thing to me: Hussein's development of wmd's and of nuclear devices is being done somewhere outside of Iraq. His labs and his scientists are all in some secure but unexpected location such as Lybia, Syria, China, or perhaps even Toledo, Ohio. There is no reason that Hussein has to have the work done in one of his palaces: he wouldn't be able to check it, even if it were done in his bedroom, so having it done elsewhere is the only thing which makes any sense. 8/3/02 Let me get this straight: Rumsfeld complained that someone in his organization was surely leaking to the Noo Yawk Times about our invasion of Iraq, and he was going to find the culprit and see him in jail; then Rumsfeld wrote a long and "detailed" memo to his military commanders telling them about his unhappiness with their results in the quest for Osama, and telling them specifically how they are to proceed in the future, but THAT document itself is leaked to CNN and likely the rest of the cable nets. What can all of this mean? Start with one basic assumption which overrides all else: Rumsfeld is lying. So we are not going to invade Iraq just now, after all. We are doubtless going out to invade someone else, someone we don't want knowing we are coming after them, someone who is bone stupid and unable to figure out that before we invade Iraq we have to have logistical staging areas and places from which to launch sorties and rockets. Someone say in Somalia? Someone say in Iran? Someone say in Jordan? I know where I'd be going if I had a plan to steal oil from Iran, Iraq, and other mideast suppliers of petroleum, and I had a staging area already staked out in Afghanistan, but I'll let you decide whether Rumpot is that smart or will be off on a crusade to do something else stupid. Sigh. You never will know with these people because they are not only unpredictable, but they are also unpredictably ignorant and foolish. 8/1/02 I posted the following to a listserve to which I subscribe and felt I should also put it here------ I swear to you that I think I am losing my mind . . . I sit here in my living room watching what *I* think are a bunch of absolutely raving maniacs who can't see that the Republicans have essentially destroyed the United States of America, whose citizens REFUSE to see that their supposed "reforms" are nothing but their longtime promises to get rid of "entitlements," I suppose including their own voter base's pensions, welfare, health care, and clean air. We are talking about being like Germany and unilaterally going to war to stop some petty dictator like Saddam Hussein from doing what we think he might do because he is "unstable." What we think he might do. We are jailing people now every day for THINKING thoughts we don't want them to be able to think "in a free society." We have given a new meaning to "conspiracy," making it equivalent to sitting around a table and planning a bank robbery which never comes to pass, i.e. making a crime out of THINKING OR PLANNING a crime which never occurs, making it against our law to THINK about breaking the law. We have somehow managed to elect (or install without electing) an imbecile who can't talk, can't think, can't act, and can't behave in any but the most boorish fashion, and we cover up for him hourly as he embarrasses the USA in every conceivable way. We have a media which covers up for this boorish imbecile for his past deeds, none of which are in the least admirable, none . . . zero; his drugging, his drinking, his whoring, his abortions, his utter disregard for decency are all forgiven because he CLAIMS he had an epiphany at some point, and then we ignore his broken promises when he gets drunk in the White House and falls off of the sofa in a drunken stupor and whacks his cheek. He was an outright THIEF to gain every single dollar he ever made in his miserable life, and no one seems to want to discuss that issue. He was a weak governor in a weak governorship state, and 99 per cent of what his governorship gave Texas was crooked rule and filthy air as his corporate buddies ignored the environment and also ignored honesty, if you want to count Enron. And what does he do? He hires a slew of Enron thieves to run the government for him in Washington! And no one cares about any of this . . . he could come out like Nixon but say instead, "I AM a crook!" and no one would care; no one would remark on it; no one would ask what to do about it. All of a sudden, I am the crazy person for questioning this strange world we have had thrust upon us, and the sane ones are the ones who babble nonsense. God exists and He has a macabre sense of humor? There is no education bill by the GOP; there is no prescription drug plan for the elderly by the GOP; there is no welfare help from the GOP; there is no intention to modify Social Security or Medicare by the GOP; there is no intention to care for the environment by the GOP; all they have ever done for the lowly is give them a solid right to pack iron so they can protect themselves from what the GOP considers their enemies, i.e. negroes and Hispanics and homosexuals; in other words the GOP has given the lowly the idea and the right in their minds to commit murder with their firearms. Be real: the only reason for having firearms is to kill something; target practice is done so when the killing time comes you won't miss. Joe Conason has shown the tip of the iceberg by pointing out that the Bushitters don't want welfare recipients to be able to satisfy their welfare-work requirement by going to school. The fact is that Republicans don't want people to have welfare at all, not at all, but if they have to agree to it, they want to make sure that it doesn't last long, and also that the recipient not be able to improve his hirability by means of education. Secretly that means that they don't want to educate negroes and Hispanics who don't vote Republican and let them get jobs which might otherwise have gone to good, Republican, red-necked dupes. It's all so easy to see once you understand that the ONLY reason "little people" vote Republican is because they think (or know) that the GOP will do its best to get them better jobs than negroes or Hispanics can get; the GOP will do its very best to keep negroes and Hispanics from getting an education; the GOP will promote religion in government, and that religion will be the Christian religion. Certainly the people the GOP protects and celebrates most cannot elect Republicans, the recipients of the biggest and best of the Republican efforts in governance, the richest one per cent of Americans. All those people can do is provide money to the GOP so it can ATTACK Democrats who might by some accident do one or two things for the little people while they too gather bribes from the rich and treat them like royalty. Look back on the "Contract with America:" find one thing in that entire document which even purports to do good for the ordinary wage earners. It's not there . . . prior to the GI Bill, the last thing done by a Republican for the unpriviliged was the Emancipation Proclamation by Lincoln. What the GOP has done to this country is very ugly, and no one, not even the best of the "liberal" reporters, analysts, and columnists will take them to task for it. ************************************************************
A "blog" is more properly called a "Web Log" and it comprises a sort of diary of personal statements by the writer of the log. I know of no rules or requirements for such things, and suggest that we can do as we choose about most of it. I have deep feelings about my country, its people, and the direction in which our leaders seem to be going, and if I don't say something to someone somewhere some time, then I am not trying to help solve the problem, but am part of the problem myself with my own apathy. What makes me think anyone cares what I think? Nothing. What makes me suppose that my thoughts or ideas will make a difference? Nothing. But if someone by chance got directed to my statements and got from them ONE TINY GERM which led to one good idea which was used to help America recover, then it behooves me to do what I can to make it possible for that happenstance to occur. Does it matter what my education is or was? No. Does it matter whether I can present a solid resume of successful ventures which would lead others to follow my words with great interest and respect? No. What is important is WHAT IS SAID, not who said it or how erudite or educated the person who uttered the words might have been. Oh, I can put my education next to any and not have to be ashamed. I can say I was a top flight rocket scientist and not be lying. I can claim to have been a professional writer of fiction and not be lying. But who cares? The sad truth is that my college graduated some idiots in the same Chemical Engineering class with me who were incompetent and accident prone. Of the "forty top flight rocket scientists" sent by Hercules Powder Company to Salt Lake City in 1958 to design and produce the third stage of the Minuteman Intercontinental Ballistic Missile system (quote from both the Salt Lake Tribune and the Deseret News) there were probably two or three who were brilliant, some who were damned good, some who were average, and two or three who were idiots who shouldn't be allowed out without a keeper. So what? The blog is about what we say, not about who we are. If what I have to say makes sense, then it doesn't matter if I am a truck driver, a longshoreman, a garbage collector, or a brain surgeon. And if what I say is wrongheaded and stupid, then it won't matter if I have a dozen degrees from as many Universities. In my experience I find that intelligence is not related to education in university. True, you are more apt to find it among physicists than you are among construction workers, but it is not given only to physicists, and it is not prohibited to construction workers. Enough of the preliminary stuff . . . let's move on to what I'm about here: a criticism of the idiot boy President, George Witless Bush, and his rich friends, though "rich" may be an unnecessary qualifier since he has never had a poor friend, and very likely has never bothered to know a poor person. |
