Windows NT Odds and Ends

Here are a few interesting quirks you might encounter in Windows XP. Some of these things will be pertinent to other versions of Windows also. For example, the "Copy Filenames to Clipboard" tool, although it's been tested only under WinXP, will probably work in Win98 too. Maybe Win95, as well, I'd like it if somebody told me. And the discussion of streams in NTFS would apply to any OS that uses the NTFS file system.

• Copy Filenames to Clipboard
  Windows XP has no way copy the names of a bunch of files to the clipboard. Here's a simple program that will add that capability.
• NTFS Alternate Data Streams
  A file in NTFS is really many files. But you normally see and deal with only one.
• 4GB of RAM in Windows XP
  I put 4GB of RAM in my computer but the operating system says there is 3.5GB. Where’s the rest of it?
