Exhibition Budgerigar Shows

English Budgerigars Shows are held by the American Budgerigar Society and the Budgerigar Association of America throughout the United States. At shows, budgies are placed in show cages and are compared to the Standard of Perfection of the ideal budgerigar as defined by the organization. Classes are held in Junior, Novice, Intermediate, and Champion Divisions. Rare colored birds are also judged. After all the divisions are judged and winners are selected, the Judge selects the top ten birds of the show. Finally, he or she chooses a bird to receive the coveted "Best in Show". These shows are open to the public. If you are interested in seeing lots of Budgies in one place, a show is where you want to be. Exhibitors are always eager to share their knowledge with those interested in the hobby. There are usually Budgies of all colors for sale at shows.
