Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king,
which would take account of his servants.
And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him,
which owed him ten thousand talents.
But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be
sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment
to be made.
The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying,
Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and
loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants,
which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took
him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him,
saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he
should pay the debt.
So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry,
and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him,
O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou
desiredst me:
Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant,
even as I had pity on thee?
And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors,
till he should pay all that was due unto him.
So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye
from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
{3} Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us;
and we turn about their whole body.
{4} Behold also the ships, which though they be so great,
and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm,
whithersoever the governor listeth.
{5} Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold,
how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
{6} And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members,
that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature;
and it is set on fire of hell.
{7} For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents,
and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
{8} But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
{9} Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men,
which are made after the similitude of God.
{10} Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing.
My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
{11} Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
{12} Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs?
so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
{13} Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you?
let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
{14} But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not,
and lie not against the truth.
{15} This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
{16} For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
{17} But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,
and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality,
and without hypocrisy.
{18} And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust
after her hath committed adultery with her already
in his heart.
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from
thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members
should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it
from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members
should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into
hell.
He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is
none occasion of stumbling in him.
But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh
in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that
darkness hath blinded his eyes.
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote
out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the *beam* out of thine own eye;
and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of
thy brother's eye.
{9} Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold,
see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.
{9} For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
{10} For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven,
and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth,
and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower,
and bread to the eater:
{11} So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
{6} For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
{7} If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons;
for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
{8} But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers,
then are ye bastards, and not sons.
{9} Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us,
and we gave them reverence:
shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
{10} For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure;
but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
{11} Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous:
nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness
unto them which are exercised thereby.
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly
Father will also forgive you:" (Mat.6:9-14)
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
But we never can prove the delights of His love
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet.
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
from Section II-a
ON FORGIVENESS AND MERCY:
Bless and Curse Not
Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
Seventy Times Seven
Parable of the Unforgiving Servant
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother
sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times:
but, Until *seventy times seven.*
Out of the Same Mouth Comes Blessing and
Cursing...
My Brothers, this should not be!
{1} My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
{2} For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word,
the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
Think On These Things!
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things
are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,
think on these things.
Matters of the Heart
(Proverbs 23:7)
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt
not commit adultery:
He That Saith He Is In The Light...
*He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother,
is in darkness even until now.*

Motes and Beams

But now, O LORD, thou art our father;
we are the clay,
and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
His Ways are not My Ways...
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord,
nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
Lord's Prayer
"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in
heaven, Hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done
in earth, as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts (trespasses, sins), *as we forgive
our debtors.* (those who trespass against us)
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen.
Trust and Obey
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
To be happy with Jesus, but to trust and obey.
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey.
To be happy with Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
To be happy with Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Or we'll walk by His side in the way.
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
To be happy with Jesus, but to trust and obey.
